Terms of service

The short version:your content stays yours; we need just enough permission to store and process it for you. Use the service honestly, don't abuse the free tier, and treat AI output as a helpful draft — not a guarantee, especially where food safety is involved.

The service

reciWe is operated by Reciwe LLC, an Illinois limited liability company in the United States. It is a personal archive for recipes and kitchen memories: you save things, we store them, help you cook from them, and surface connections across them. By creating an account or using reciwe.xyz you agree to these terms and the privacy policy.

Your content

Everything you save remains yours. You give us only the permission we need to run the service: to store your content, process it (including sending it to the AI providers described in the privacy policy when you use AI features), display it back to you, and deliver it to people you explicitly share it with. That permission ends for content you delete.

You're responsible for what you save — only import content you have the right to keep a personal copy of, and don't upload anything unlawful or harmful. Content promoting violence, harm to people, or hazardous creations has no home here, and we may remove it or close accounts that host it.

Fair use of the free tier

Free accounts have daily limits on imports, AI calls, and photo operations, and a cap on total collection size — the app shows you where you stand. Don't circumvent the limits, automate bulk scraping through the service, resell access, or probe or disrupt the infrastructure. We may adjust the free-tier limits as the service evolves.

What you pay, and what you get

New accounts start with a 30-day trial. When it ends, your cookbook does not disappear and is not locked: it stays browsable, searchable, and cookable forever. Only the actions that cost us money each time they run — imports, AI calls, image generation — stop until you unlock. Accounts created before reciWe had a price are never put on that clock.

Unlocking is a one-time payment of $15, not a subscription. There is no recurring charge, no renewal, and nothing to cancel. $5 of that $15 arrives as usage credit; the rest is the account fee, which covers the work we do on our own schedule (nightly re-shelving, graph projection, maintenance) plus storage.

Credit pays for AI actions at the fixed per-action prices shown on your billing page. You can add credit at any time in amounts from $5 to $200. Credit never expires, but it has no cash value, cannot be transferred between accounts, and is not a stored-value or gift-card instrument. Connect your own AI key and most actions cost you nothing here.

Prices may change as the service evolves. A change never applies retroactively: credit you already bought keeps its purchasing power at the prices in effect when it is spent, and an account you already unlocked stays unlocked.

Payments are processed by Stripe — your card details go to Stripe directly and never touch reciWe's servers. Applicable sales tax, where any is due, is calculated by Stripe at checkout and shown before you pay.

Refunds

Within 14 days of unlocking, email us and we will refund the $15 in full, no explanation needed.

Unused credit is refundable at any time, with no deadline — ask and we will return whatever is left on your balance. Credit you have already spent is not refundable, because it paid for AI work that actually ran on your behalf.

Refunds return to your original payment method, typically within 5–10 business days depending on your bank. Refunding a purchase also removes the matching credit from your balance, so a refund cannot be used to keep both the money and the usage. Email hello@reciwe.xyz from the address on your account and we will sort it out.

Deleting your account does not automatically refund anything — if you want money back, ask before you delete, because deletion removes the records a refund is calculated from.

AI output — a kitchen-specific warning

AI features (extraction, scaling, substitutions, chat) can be wrong. Amounts, temperatures, times, and ingredient identifications should be checked against your own judgment, and never rely on AI output alone for food-safety decisions — canning, fermentation, allergen substitutions, doneness temperatures, and anything for people with medical dietary needs deserve a trusted primary source. reciWe is a tool for keeping and following recipes, not a food-safety authority.

Bring-your-own-AI

If you connect your own AI provider key, your use of that provider is governed by their terms, their costs are yours, and you're responsible for keeping the key valid. We store it encrypted and use it only to route your requests.

No warranty; limits on liability

reciWe is provided as-is, without warranties of any kind. We work to keep your collection safe and available, but to the maximum extent permitted by law we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, data loss, or anything arising from reliance on AI output. Where liability can't be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the past twelve months (for free accounts: zero).

Ending things

You can stop using reciWe and delete your account (and all its data) yourself at any time from the ✨ settings. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms, abuse the infrastructure, or host harmful content — for anything short of clear abuse we'll try to contact you first.

Changes & contact

We may update these terms as the product evolves; the date above reflects the latest revision, and significant changes will be announced to signed-in users. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Questions: hello@reciwe.xyz.
